Sleep., originally uploaded by SunnyNole.

We have been cooped up in the house for far too long because of Tropical Storm Fay. Schools were closed Friday which means Camden was home - and an active two year old does not like to be in the house all day! Today has been better. The two babies are asleep. Which means Joe and I can actually REST for a few minutes. The quietness in this house is too good to be true right now...

Delivery Photos

Us... before baby number two! Waiting... and Waiting... :)
Gee and Granddaddy brought Cammy in to see me before they delivered Ella.
This is him kissing me goodbye. So sweet.

...and what's even sweeter is my family was so nervous about the surgery,
this is what they did while we were waiting. Quite a funny photo.. :)
My two sisters, my sister's boyfriend, and my Grandma.

Granddaddy and Ella. Ella's first hour at home. :)

Check out the outfit and cute hat! This is what we brought her home in.

More photos coming soon. I stole these from my mom... we have some too, I just need to find the right cord to get things hooked up! I've been out of sorts lately for obvious reasons, so this will do for now.
And just in case you know anyone who is having a baby soon, this is an awesome gift. Ella and I have enjoyed listening to it at night while Daddy lays down with Camden to get him to sleep. We are getting Daddy to set the iPod dock up in Ella's room so we can listen to it in there at night while I'm nursing her.
It's not just for babies, either, if you just like relaxing music, you'll LOVE it! :)

The Proud Big Brother

big boy cam, originally uploaded by SunnyNole.

... is doing so well with the little baby. He's even told the grandparents that when we leave we have to take Ella "wiz us". So at least he's not trying to pawn her off on someone yet. He's such a cutie pie.

Nesting, originally uploaded by SunnyNole.

We are "nesting" at the hospital - which means that they have discharged Mom but Miss Ella Kate is not able to go home yet. So Mom and Dad get to stay with her, to keep the family together. All is well and we are excited about the possibility of going home tomorrow. Will keep you all posted.

Bloomin' Bloomers

Baby Stuff 005, originally uploaded by SunnyNole.

These bloomers were a gift from my friend Sarah. She got me the gift card to get them and I was able to get one, and my grandma happened to be in town to help out when I was sick a few days ago and bought the other one. I absolultey adore them and can't wait to get them on her little bottom.

Onto the name discussion: we are set on the first name (obviously)... and are having a disagreement about the middle name "Maria". We have changed it so many times now I'm not sure WHAT I like. Joe wants to either keep Maria or go with something baseball-park-themed. (If you didn't already know, Camden was named after Camden Yards. So, yesterday, Joe proposed Shea as a middle name. Obviously from Shea Stadium. Ella Shea just sounds redneck to me. (Apologies to all you rednecks that read my blog, really, I love you all and I'm not making fun of your kind, it's just not really "me", and if it's not really "me", then it's not "Ella".) Not to mention Chipper Jones named his daughter Shea, and he's one quality individual. (think: affair with Hooters girl...)? Even though my Granddaddy Haskew loved the guy, he still is not what I'd consider "quality"... nor what I would want to think about when calling my little girl by her first and middle name when she's in trouble in a few years... And Chipper just appears to be a big dumb jock to me... in one Braves game that we were at, he was interviewed and asked if he prefered Batman or Spiderman. His response: "Spiderman, Wayyyyy Cooler!!!!"... not even correct freaking grammar! Joe and I still say that line to each other and laugh whenever Spiderman is mentioned. So, to make a long story short, SHEA is OUT.

I suggested Ruth. I have an Aunt Ruth who reminds me a lot of my Grandma Haskew, and when I think of her, I can see her smile with these large dimples. In fact, I cannot picture her NOT smiling, because she smiles a lot. And, the baseball reference would be obviously Babe Ruth. Even Camden already knows that "Babe Ruth was the greatest baseball player that ever lived"... as he recites from Sandlot.

I even really like Ella Joy. Joe is not sure.

Suggestions anyone? LOL! :)

A little sewing...

I've done just a little sewing the past few days. I found this LOVELY owl fabric at JoAnn's on Thursday. It's a snuggly flannel.

I knew it would be perfect for burp cloths... which is what I made. No, I didn't have any energy for any fancy quilts or dresses... just made some basic burp cloths... LOL! But they did come out quite cute... and they will be put to good use... all four of them! :)

I even cross stitched her name and made a little tag for each of them. The underside is just basic cotton that I found in the remnants section. I thought the little owls were perfect for the "secret garden" theme... and owls seem to have a significance to me. Go here if you're wondering why. The snuggly flannel is on sale this week so I (might) go back and get more to make her something else out of this, because I just love it. :)

Where The Wild Things Are!

One of our most favorite books to read is Where The Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak. If you don't have kids or haven't read this book, it's a classic children's story, where Max, a mischievous little boy (much like my own LOL!), gets sent to his room for being too "wild", and then creates his own world in his bedroom - a forest inhabited by fabulous wild creatures who crown Max as their ruler.

Did you know they are coming out with a movie?

I think they said release date will be in October of 2009, so (maybe) that will mean that Camden will be old enough to sit through a movie in the theater? We'll see! Either way, it's exciting! :) And just think of all the "wild thing" merchandise they will have to come out with!

French Toast Girl Prints

French Toast Girl Prints, originally uploaded by SunnyNole.

I have two prints hanging side by side now from French Toast Girl. They were originally planned for the kitchen but looked so lovely above a blue leather chair and our book case. The one on the right is the newest to the collection, a woman perched on a branch, reading to the birds and other animals. Her socks are my favorite part in the photo... other than she's reading to a captivated audience! :0)

My grandma is in town visiting. She came in to help me since I've been really sick the last two days. Doing better now.

Only a few more days to go before Ella arrives. I'm ready. Her butt is constantly in my ribs and the heartburn is almost unbearable. But, my mood has been great and I'm getting excited to meet my little girl.

Ella's Quilt from Kacy, Some Inspiration, and a Name Change...

This is Kacy and a better shot of the little quilt that she made for Ella. Isn't it stunning? I just LOVE it!!!!! (Thanks again, Kacy!) :))))))

Since this quilt arrived to my house, I've jumped into my fabric stash and pulled out a few red and black fabrics and have a little sewing project planned out. It involves ladybugs for the 'secret garden nursery'. I've been so inspired!!!!!!

So, that's what's going on creatively here. A lot of thinking and mental planning as I clean, shop, and fold laundry... the never-ending list of things to do... that MUST be done this week so I'll have one week to rest before Ella arrives. (Note, I haven't actually done any sewing yet-- I had to take my sewing room down to make room for the nursery. Everything is organized in my bedroom closet... so it takes effort to pull it all out... and I've got to figure out what I'm going to use as a table... so... I've looked at my fabrics and I have a plan, I just haven't put foot to pedal or needle to thread YET... as I've had so many other things to do first...) :)

Speaking of Ella, did I tell you all that we've changed the middle name *again*? Yes.

Ella Maria is what we plan on naming her, although I've also been having second thoughts. I really like something else and Joe does not. He wants to stick with Ella Maria. Probably because he wants to call her E=MC squared. Nerd.

Friends are Amazing :)

God has blessed me with some pretty awesome friends. I just got a LOVELY package in the mail from my friend Kacy. Wow, Kacy, you really out did yourself. This package was AMAZING! I knew about the nursing cover, but everything else was a complete and total surprise! I have to show everything here, so, are you ready guys?

First, a very awesome nursing cover, or "hooter hider" LOL! with the loveliest little sewn-in details. The shade of pink is just precious.
Next, a fabric covered wipe holder and matching diaper holder-- in lovely mermaid fabric. You all know how much I love mermaids, so I was thrilled with this little edition for my (or Ella's) diaper bag!!!!!!!!! :). It even came complete with a TON of diapers!!!! :)

Next, she is awesome because she even remembered Camden- she made this AMAZING froggy bean-bag set that spells his name out. He was THRILLED with it. :) (there were even books for him and Ella too!)

And I saved the best for last-- This one blew me away and even made me get a little teary! A LOVELY little handmade baby quilt in yellows and greens and pinks and blues just like Ella's nursery. It's SO BEAUTIFUL! These photos don't do it justice, you'd have to HOLD it to get the full effect. It is so soft and cuddily I just love it!!!!! Here's another photo :):

Can you say AMAZING!? Wow. She did an AMAZING job! I'm definately going to take this quilt to the hospital with us so we can use it right away. :)

My friend Joy threw me the best baby shower last night, too. I'm not a "big-crowd" type of person nor do I really like to be the center of attention, so I'm always uncomfortable at big parties that are for me (i.e. my wedding shower, my LAST baby shower, etc.), so Joy did something completely awesome! She had a little party at her house with just a few girlfriends and lots of great goodies. She made the most amazing mini stuffed tomatoes and tropical salsa and her son made some really good spinach dip! It was really cool and just right up my alley. We just sat around the table, eating, drinking (they had margaritas, I had peach flavored tea!), and of course chatting about anything and everything! Everyone brought amazing gifts, and I'm so looking forward to using the gift cards!!!!!!!!! The little pink and brown outfits that Joy bought were awesome and I plan to take the sleeper to the hospital as well!
Like I said, the lord has blessed me with AWESOME friends and an awesome support system. I feel like a pretty lucky girl today. :)
