It's all Perspective!

Perspective ATC series, originally uploaded by SunnyNole.

Here is my ATC for the March theme "perspective". I did a mini-series this time but won't show them all here. It was fun and I admit, I'm glad I've gotten the watercolor paper and ink back out... although I'm out of practice! I was looking back at a few things that I had drawn in my watercolor moleskine journal, and they were fantastic compared to this. Drawing is just something that you must do daily in order to improve.

There are other things that you must do daily in order to improve... walking, dishes, laundry, prayer, even making sweet tea. It's obvious that the more you do something, the better at it you become. Which is probably why my husband is so good at annoying me. It is his lifelong goal. Like right now, he's mocking a sound that I just made over and over and over again. Did I ever mention that's why I like my iPod so much? It serves as a barrier between my brain and his quirks... and it's not something that I have to pull out always, but sometimes, it's a MUST! Now... he's sitting in the recliner crunching his chips so loud it sounds like he's literally chewing in my ear.. and I'm across the room, on the floor on the laptop. Oh, now he's singing a Snoop Dogg song that apparently he only knows two lines of because he's repeating them over and over....

However, he's not seeming to think he's doing anything to annoy me... I'm guessing it's from what perspective you are looking!

Happy Easter Everyone!

Happy Easter! We just got in from visiting my family. My mom and dad came up to visit so Camden got to see his Grandmommy and Granddaddy! They had a good time together and I was able to relax a little. Everyone commented on how much Camden has grown, and how well he was talking.

For Easter, he had probably one too many M&M's, a few too many peeps, and NO NAP! So... he's in is room now, wound up and has not fallen asleep yet! Overtired? Yes. A Bit.

Joe and I are now watching "Duplex" and taking a load off!

Happy Good Friday, Everyone!

Pretty!, originally uploaded by SunnyNole.

I took this photo on our trip Tennessee this past Christmas. Maria from Me At This Moment had a similar photo on her blog this morning, and it reminded me of this photo and thought I would share. This cross is a large structure set near the Smoky Mountains in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. I think it's lovely each time I see it.

Maybe It's Me...

...But the woman at Wal-Mart today was really rude!

Here's the scenario: I've got a full cart (well, semi-full, but seemed full because I was buying SIX large plastic bins for organizing my craft-y stuff)... and so, the bins were stacked inside of each other with the lids inside the one on top.

So, I'm there, with the bins, and with Camden, who is STANDING UP in the baby-part of the cart (don't be alarmed, he does this all the time and is quite talented at it if you ask me)... So, I'm trying to be ever-so-careful so I don't move the cart while he is checking out the view from above.

The woman rings everything up, and leaves the bins on the conveyor belt, all the while, I swipe my card and enter my pin number.

The woman then says "You can get those bins yourself".

Ok.

So, I walk my pregnant @$$ over to the belt and take the six huge bins and carry them back over to where my cart is. I'm MID-CARRY when (I swear!) she says "Uh, the pin pad is asking you additional questions, and I cannot complete your transaction until you answer them".

I glared at her, and this is what popped out of my mouth:

"I'm really not new to this whole Using-A-Debit-Card-Thing, and you told me to "get my own bins", so I'm trying to "get them" and "get them in the cart" so the woman behind me can start to place her groceries on the conveyor belt. Once I get them in the cart, I will answer the additional question on the pin pad so you can complete my transaction and I'll be on my way."

She just looked at me like "woah". Ok, maybe that was an over-reaction, but she needed to cool it. After all, regardless of if she completed my transaction or not, she couldn't start ringing up the other lady until I moved the huge plastic bins that were taking up all the space on the conveyor belt!

A work in progress...

A work in progress..., originally uploaded by SunnyNole.

There has been a lot of talk about birds and about embroidery lately-- so I tried my hand at it, and this is what I came up with... now, It really needs to be starched and ironed... and you can't see the bottom half because I'm still working on it, but that's why I titled it a work in progress!

I have too many "works in progress" right now it seems. Our house is in transistion... and so our lives feel like they are in transistion... (at least mine does... I'm not sure that it bothers my husband all that much...LOL). I have two unfinished knitting projects and a monkey quilt that I'm still working on for Camden... and I keep adding little things in here and there and here and there. To be honest, I have all of these things "in progress" but right now they are just sitting there. Mt. Laundrymore has taken over again and I've been working on THAT instead. Haha...

Do you ever put things on your to-do-list that you've already done just so you can cross them off? I do.

Lucky Clover 2, originally uploaded by SunnyNole.

Happy St. Patrick's Day Everyone! Wishing luck and laughter to all of you!

And now for one of my favorite irish quotes... the Irish Blessing...

"May the road rise up to meet you, May the wind be always at your back, May the sun shine warm upon your face, And, Until we meet again, May God hold you in the palm of his hand."

Hope everyone had a fantastic day!

Young Wishes and Polarioid Dreams

PolaroidJnJ
Originally uploaded by SunnyNole.
Ok, here we are... pre-baby, pre-marriage, back when really we had nothing else to do but take polaroids of ourselves... haha! We ran across this photo while going through some old photos the other night. I was making a small package for Joe's brother and was looking for an old and funny picture to put in it, one that he would enjoy. I ran across photos of he and his brother holding their Mom and Nana's beloved dogs. So, I sent that one. We stumbled on these polaroids - there are two. One is on the fridge, and the other, I stuck in my book and am currently using it as a bookmark. It's a lovely photo-- Joe with his long hair and goatee, me with my thin(er) face and nicely plucked eyebrows --AND, I'm wearing lipstick! (Something I don't do often now that I'm in MOMMY MODE!!) ... We look well rested, don't we? Boy, how times change! Still, this photo makes me smile. I think it's the silliness that we're taking a photo of ourselves along with the glow of love that is in our faces.

My ATCs have come full circle...

ATC Mosaic, originally uploaded by SunnyNole.

I started with digital butterflies and caterpillars... then moved into scrapbooking and collage, then to pen/ink and watercolor, then to photography, and wavered back and forth between watercolor, collage and photography/digital things... and my last ATC? A collage with a butterfly.... The journey back was just cool to me. I'm glad I've kept this up.. so no matter what's going on, I AM doing SOMETHING each month! :)

Book and Magazine Swap!

Ok... as an avid reader and magazine consumer, I have collected quite a bit over the last few months that I've so nicely dispersed among friends and family. However, I thought it would be nice to organize a book and magazine swap-- that was ongoing-- so you're always getting fresh, new, exciting things in the mail! Here's how it would work: All that are interested would sign up. Then, after you read a book, magazine, or what-have-you, and you are finished with it and ready to pass it on, you would email me for an address. I will pick the name from the top of the list, give you the name, and you would send to that person and so on. Once you have become the recipient of an item, and YOU are ready to send something off, you would send back to the person who sent to you, and so on... Make sense? Of course, if my local people want to join in, that would be even better because we wouldn't have to pay postage on those swaps... however, I love getting mail, so I'd probably mail some stuff off too. The best part? (For those of you worried about paying postage)... you can send it "Media Mail", which is SO CHEAP! you can send a package of books for less than you could buy one magazine!!!! Really! So, who is in? I have some mommy magazines that I need to pass on... and a few paperbacks, too! Let's DO it, and save money and lessen our CLUTTER in the long run! :)

A caterpillar discussion and a little on baby names...

Quote to go w/ my ATC
Originally uploaded by SunnyNole.
I loved this Quote. There was just something so funny about it. :)

So, baby names. Well, we've been down the road and back again on this one. I'm particularly fond of a certain name with an odd spelling, and we are now debating over whether it's too "different". We won't post it until we really know that it's what we want, as to keep it safely a secret. And thus, we're now on the middle name debate. I'm particularly fond of the simple names for middle names, now that we (almost) have our first name ready... and the first name we've chosen CALLS for a simple middle name.... after all, one cannot have two very odd and difficult names, can they!? Maybe. However, I'm fond of the short, sweet and simple middle names.

That is, if SHE still turns out to be a SHE. I will get more confirmation on that in a few weeks. In the mean time, I'm calling her a girl, and referring to her as she.

13 going on 30 was on last night. We just got a new TV and entertainment center, and since Joe was not home, I plopped myself in front of the TV and had popcorn and a movie. I have to say, I really liked the movie. Maybe because I love the 80's, and could relate a little? I don't know... although the state I'm in right now, I don't feel fabulous at (well almost 30)..... :) If you haven't seen the movie and want a great chick flick, go check it out. Maybe I'm just behind the times and this is an OLD movie... hahaha! It came out in 2004!

I'm trying to get better at posting daily again. Really, I am.

My boys are working hard...

Working Together!
Originally uploaded by SunnyNole.
All weekend we worked on the house. We finally decided on a paint color... (or COLORS)... which will be revealed in a few days. We got the living room situated like we want it and now have a few other items added, including barstools (which the boys are putting together in the photo). Camden was such a great help to Joe for the first few minutes... then he started sticking the screwdriver in Joe's ear, losing the nuts and bolts, etc, etc!

It was a LONG and CRAZY weekend but we're on our way to liking our house again... We have went through some phases and some not-so-wonderful decorating choices, and now have come to a solace. The #1 thing that we want to do is get rid of clutter. Joe and I both hate things EVERYWHERE-- and don't want knick knacks and such on every surface nor do we need to have every wall cluttered with something, so, we're keeping it SIMPLE! -- and SIMPLE looks CLEAN! :) That's what I'm talking about! :)

I DID sew a pillow for the couch to freshen it up and have the 2nd one half way done. I hopefully will finish that within the next few days.

More to come...

Spending Time Saving My World

TeacherPics2008 034, originally uploaded by SunnyNole.

We have been spending a lot of time together lately, my little man and I. For one, i've been leaving work on time and not staying late to "save the world" as I have been doing so much in the past. Partly, because my intern is doing a good job, and partly, because my doctor advised me to take it a little easier, and partly because after leaving "on time" for a few days straight, one notices that you can do so much with four extra hours of time in the afternoons. Teachers in our county are only paid for 7 and a half hour days. My workday begins at 7 and ends at 2.30, however, by the time I try and save the world, it's 5pm, everyday, and I have worked for two and a half hours for free! So... I'm trying to leave on time. I owe it to my little man, who has been so incredibly sweet lately. I sneeze, he says "Bless You, Mommy". I hand him something, he says "Thank You, Mommy"... and I have just been having so much fun with him. Yes he's a handful. Yes, I'm tired... but, he needs that from me, and I certainly need to be with him now too. With another one on the way, I have to get in these moments with my precious little boy whenever I can. So, I try and save the world between 7 and 2.30, and the rest of my time is spent saving my world-- my Cammie.

Baby Girl at 14 Weeks

Baby Girl at 14 Weeks, originally uploaded by SunnyNole.

This is "Baby Girl Chapman"... at 14 weeks. Yes, I said "baby girl"... because that's what they are saying right now! We will see! Please THINK PINK for me and keep your fingers crossed. And in the meantime, gather up your best baby girl names and send them to me! The heavy name debate is ON! We're particularly fond of "C" names... to carry on the theme... but wouldn't be opposed to changing that theme. :)
